State Road 25 to be reduced to one lane for bridge work

Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Rieth-Riley Construction Co. will reduce State Road 25 to one lane for bridge work in Cass County between Cliff Dr. and Gates St. on or after Monday, July 18.

State Road 25 will be reduced to one lane over the Wabash River south crossing, and a temporary traffic signal will be installed to direct traffic. Work will be ongoing through late November for a bridge deck overlay preventative maintenance project.

INDOT urges drivers to stay alert near crews and be prepared to wait for the temporary traffic signal in this location. Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time when driving through this area and should slow down and drive distraction-free through all work zones.

Fulton County H.O.P.E., Inc. to host event

Fulton County H.O.P.E., Inc. is proud to announce that they will be hosting a family-

friendly, fun, and affordable event at the Courthouse Square in downtown Rochester on Friday, July 22, from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.

Fulton County H.O.P.E., Inc. was founded in 2018 and strives to be the driving force in providing awareness and education to the residents of Fulton County regarding resources as well as provide pathways to accessing those resources for community members who experience poverty, substance use, and mental health hardships. The most recent project community members may be aware of is “H.O.P.E. for the Homeless” which provides support to families and individuals who find themselves homeless.

The event will feature a booth where the community can obtain resources Fulton County H.O.P.E. provides such as resource brochures, can learn what the organization currently is working on, and learn how to volunteer to support projects that benefit Fulton County. In addition, the event will also feature a service provider fair in which the community can learn what other resources our service provider partners provide for Fulton County.

Free entertainment will be provided starting at 5:30 pm by Round Barn Opry. Knucklez, located at the Moose, will be offering affordable BBQ for purchase. Families can also enjoy fun games supplied by The Outlet Youth Center, connecting with our emergency personnel, checking out a fire truck, plus much more!

We look forward to providing this “First Friday” type event for our community to not only enjoy an opportunity to participate in a fun and affordable event in beautiful downtown Rochester but also help folks to learn more about the resources our organization and our service providers’ partners do to support youth and families in our community.
