Oris Baker

Oris G. Baker 92, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 5:24 P.M. Friday December 6, 2019 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, Indiana. He was born on February 25, 1927 in Rochester, Indiana, the son of Howard Ray and Sarah “Sadie” (Estabrook) Baker. On December 9, 1951, in Rochester, Indiana, he married Mary P. Rentschler and she survives. Oris had attended International Business College, Fort Wayne, Indiana, studying Business Administration and had served with the United States Army.


Mr. Baker had worked as an accountant for Essex Wiring in Logansport, Indiana for over thirty five years retiring in 1992. He also operated Baker Vacuum Sales for almost sixty years. He had attended the Fulton Baptist Temple, Fulton, Indiana, as well as Metea Baptist Church, Metea, Indiana. He enjoyed fishing, repairing vacuums and was an avid reader of the Bible.
Survivors include his wife, Mary P. Baker, Rochester, Indiana, daughters, Mary Lynne (Phil) Frye, Fulton, Indiana, Rebecca (Jack) Aylor, Lake Zurich, Illinois, grandchildren, Andy (Laura) Mulligan, Carmel, Indiana, Matthew Frye, Indianapolis, Indiana, Aaron Frye, Champaign, Illinois, Jason (Chereline) Frye, Savoy, Illinois, great grandchildren, Lily Mulligan, Gavin Mulligan, Aleah Frye, Aislin Frye, and Matthew Frye II, brothers, Philip (Marge) Baker, Phoenix, Arizona, Jerry (Nancy) Baker, Rochester, Indiana, several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday December 9, 2019 at the Fulton Baptist Temple, Fulton, Indiana, with Pastor Bruce Russell officiating. Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday December 8, 2019 and one hour prior to service Monday at the Church. Burial will be in the Fulton Cemetery, Fulton, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton Baptist Temple Youth Building Fund. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana.
