William David “Bill” Hughes, 82, of Medaryville, IN went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2020. He passed away surrounded by his family at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN after sustaining injuries in an automobile accident Monday. Bill was born on September 30, 1937 in Salyersville, KY to the late Virgil and Stella Prater Hughes. He was a lifelong resident of Medaryville.
Bill owned and operated Hughes and Son wrecker service in Medaryville for many years. He also worked at Plymouth Tube in Winamac, IN and retired as a supervisor from American Oak in North Judson, IN. Bill was a hard worker and always supported his family.
Bill enjoyed fishing and scrapping. He had a good sense of humor, “Did you see that little green man?” Bill loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren all of whom he had given a special nickname. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be from 2-6 PM EST Monday, January 13, 2020 at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville, IN.
Funeral Services will be held at 6 PM EST Monday, January 13, 2020 at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville, IN with Pastor Heath Hiatt officiating.
Private Burial will take place at White Post Cemetery in Medaryville, IN.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the funeral home.
