Mildred G. Hurtt 93, Rochester, Indiana

Mildred G. Hurtt 93, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 6:23 A.M. Saturday March 7, 2020 at Hickory Creek of Rochester.

She was born on October 8, 1926 in Arcola, Illinois the daughter of Robert and Tinsey Opal (Parker) Sylvester. On July 2, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois, she married Raymond Hurtt. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1997.

Ms. Hurtt had worked as a bank teller in Chicago before moving to Rochester where she worked for Lau Industries for twenty five years. She loved to walk and could be seen multiple times a day out and about enjoying the outdoors. She also enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, baking, cheering for the Chicago Cubs and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Linda and husband James Carroll, San Antonio, Texas, James Hurtt, Michael Hurtt, Patricia and husband Tom Stumpff, Rochester, Indiana, Susan and husband Scott Kistler, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Janet Carroll, Christine Carroll, both of Austin, Texas, Bailey Stumpff Kaplan and husband Matt, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Michael Kistler, Indianapolis, Indiana, Carter Kistler, Rochester, Indiana, brother, Gene and wife Helen Sylvester, Arcola, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Hurtt, brother, Jack Sylvester, and sisters, Betty Thompson, Louise Sylvester, Evelyn Gamble, and Ruth Collins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 P.M. Saturday March 14, 2020 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
