Helen L. Scheffer, 96, of Pulaski, IN went home to be with the Lord at 1:55 PM Tuesday, June 23, 2020. She passed away peacefully at the Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac, IN with her family by her side. Helen was born on July 20, 1923 in Pulaski, IN to the late Hubert and Rose Russell Ortman. She graduated from Pulaski High School and attended Beauty College in Logansport, IN. On November 30, 1945, she married Paul M. “Pudge” Scheffer at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski. He passed away August 13, 2006.
Helen was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was also an active member of the Christian Mothers. She was a devoted farm wife and the proud mother of thirteen children. Helen enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, canning, and cooking. She was hardworking and raised chickens which she sold as frozen fryers. She also sold farm fresh eggs.
Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 4 PM EDT Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN. The Rosary will be recited following the wake service.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM EDT Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM EDT Friday, June 26, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski, IN with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating.
Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery South in Pulaski, IN.
