Carol Ann Casey 76

Mrs. Carol Ann Casey 76 of Rochester passed away at 5:13 AM, July 24, 2020 at St. Vincent's Hospital of Indianapolis. 

 

In South Bend, on February 16, 1944, Carol Ann Hecht was born.  She was a precious daughter of Russell Harold and Velma Jean Yard Hecht.  As one of 14 of the Hecht kids, she grew up as the sixth oldest.

 

On October 19, 1963 Carol married John Norman Casey in Rochester.  From their union came three wonderful children Jeanette, Cristina and Scott.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of three more generations.

 

Many will remember Carol Ann's warm smile and helpful demeaner as she served her customers from behind the counter at Scott's Delicatessen.  She was also a member of Mooseheart.

 

An adventurer and with a love for the outdoors, Carol Ann enjoyed mushroom hunting, especially in Michigan.  To relax she enjoyed listening to the music of Elvis Pressley.  Paramount in her life was her family.  As a grandma, Carol was proud of her legacy of her grands the great-grands and the great-great-grands.  She looked forward to family celebrations and the holidays making many memories.

 

 

Left to cherish Carol's memory are her companion Jerry Hutchens of Macy, 3 children: Jeanette Cook and husband Roger of Rochester, Cristina Casey of Akron, Scott Casey and companion Lisa Franklin of Fulton, her siblings Sandra Cauffman and companion Harry of Niles, MI, Jennifer Williams of Rochester, Connie Swick and husband Tom, Silver Lake, Tina Malott and husband Roscoe, Sara Thompson and husband Barry all of Rochester, Bill Hecht and wife Juanita of Kokomo, Alan Hecht and wife Tammy of Mentone, Russell Harold Hecht Jr of Niles, MI, and Brian K. Hecht of Rochester; 5 grandchildren; Johnathan C. Miller, Erica Vicente, Doug Clingerman, Eric Cook, Christopher Cook, 15 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, lifelong friend Judith Ladson of Rochester and her treasured canine companion "Lucky" the tan and black miniature pinscher, numerous nieces nephews and cousins also survive.

 

Preceding Carol in death are her parents Russell Harold and Velma Jean Hecht, husband John Norman Casey on  December 15, 2015, a brother Larry Hecht, 2 sisters Patty Huff, Phyllis Hecht and a granddaughter Trinity Star Medly.  

 

A celebration of the life of Carol Ann Casey will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester.  Her family will receive friends from 9:30 until this time of the service.  Burial will follow in the Plainview Cemetery, Macy.  Online expressions may be conveyed to the family at www.goodfamilyfh.com
