Melvin Leroy Pratt, 93, formerly of Rochester, passed away at 8:46 PM on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at his home in Winamac.
On October 16, 1926, Melvin was born in Fulton County to Russell W. and Ethel Dora Miller Pratt.
Melvin and Iva May Leland were married on January 30, 1953 in Erding Germany. They shared 54 years of life’s adventures. Sadly, she passed away on May 1, 2017.
Left to cherish the memories of Melvin are three daughters Lisa Day and husband Dennis of Star City, Regina Waits of Dallas, TX, Maria Nicolas and husband Jim of Winamac; five sons John Pratt and wife Nancy of Rochester, Michael Pratt and wife Lisa of Middletown, Daniel Pratt and wife Annette of Plymouth, Mark Pratt and wife Judy of Delong, Dominic Pratt of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Matthew Pratt and wife Carla of Plymouth; 29 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren,; two brothers Irvin Pratt and wife Marlene of Middlebury, Phillip Pratt and wife Janice of Rochester and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Melvin in death are his parents, wife, grandson Jeremy Day, two great grandsons Waylon Cox, Owen Abbott and sister Gladys Cutshaw
A graveside service for Melvin L. Pratt will be at 10:00 on Monday, October 12, 2020 in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery. Pastor Phil Pratt will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard and the US Navy Honors Team.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors.
