Thomas L. Landis 81, Rochester, Indiana passed away at 10:35 A.M., Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at his residence.

He was born on June 2, 1939 in Fulton County, Indiana, the son of Howard Wilson and Flora Irene (Smoker) Landis. On June 20, 1981 in Shelbyville, Indiana, he married Gayle A. (Fuqua) Linville. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2020.

Early in Tom’s life, he had worked for a funeral home in Galveston, Texas before returning to Rochester, Indiana. He retired from Burton Mechanical in Rochester after twenty five years of service.  He was member of the Moose Lodge. Tom enjoyed wintering in Fort Myers Beach, Florida for over twenty years, traveling extensively across the United States, horseback riding, fishing, and woodworking.

Survivors include his children, Rick (Diane) Landis, Macy, Indiana Colleen Diveley, Fulton, Indiana, Larry (Greta) Landis, Rochester, Indiana, step-children, Shelley (Tim) Snyder, Shelbyville, Indiana, Suzan (Greg) Bitterling, Rochester, Indiana, twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Wilson Landis, mother, Flora Irene Robbins, step-mother, Eva Landis, brothers, Earl “Gene” Landis and Lewis “Kay” Landis, and step-son, Scott Linville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 24, 2020 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana with his grandson, Thomas Landis officiating.  Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. to7:00 P.M. Friday and one hour prior to service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. COVID-19 guidelines for social distancing and masking wearing should be observed.
