Sharon S. Fitzsimons 78

Cedar Lake resident, Sharon S. Fitzsimons 78,  passed away at 10:39 AM, October 24, 2020 at the home of her daughter, Donna at Bruce Lake.

 

On August 8, 1942, Sharon Sue Wynkoop was born in Gary.  She was a precious daughter of Chester Iván and Helen Irene Button Wynkoop. Growing up as one of the seven Wynkoop kids, she shared her childhood with two sisters Karen and Pat and four brothers Doug, Don, David and Larry.   With great Trojan pride, Sharon graduated from Highland High School in 1960. 

 

As entrepreneurs, Sharon and her daughter Christina opened a full-service salon in Schererville, A Plus Haircrafters.  She cultivated many lifelong relationships with her customers during the more than three decades of service.   

 

 

Left to cherish Sharon's memory are: 3 children Christina Hoeckelberg (Ken) of Crown Point, Donna Sholes (Jeff) of Bruce Lake, Richard Fitzsimons Jr. (Cynthia) of Crown Point a sister Karen Hamende (Royce III) of Cedar Lake, a brother Doug Wynkoop (Kelly) of Cedar Lake,  4 grandchildren: Kyle Hoeckelberg, Max Hoeckelberg,  Paige Flandland and Alexis Fitzsimons.  Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

 

Preceding Sharon in death are her parents Chester and Helen Wynkoop, a sister Pat Leep on November 1, 2017,  three Wynkoop brothers: Donald 1989, David on February 27, 2019 and Larry September 5, 2019.

 

In following Sharon's wishes, her family will hold a private family celebration of her life.  Memorials may be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place • Memphis, TN 38105,  The ALS Association Indiana Chapter, 7202 E. 87th Street, Suite 102, Indianapolis, IN 46256 or you may wish to plant a flower or tree in Sharon's name.  The Good Family Funeral Home is caring for her family.  Online expressions of sympathy may be made to Sharon's family at www.goodfamilyfh.com
