Patricia J. McMillen, 76, Rochester

Patricia J. McMillen, 76, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 11:35 A.M. on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at Rose Senior Living, Carmel, Indiana.

 

She was born on December 8, 1944, in Rochester, Indiana, the daughter of John Robert and Marie K. (Richardson) McLochlin. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1962. After high school, she attended St. Mary’s of the Woods College, Terre Haute, Indiana, for two years before transferring to Indiana University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in 1966.

 

She received her Master’s degree from Indiana University in 1981. On July 2, 1966, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester, she married Billy “Bill” McMillen. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2017.

 

Patricia had taught at Griffith High School, Triton High School, and North Miami High School before retiring from Rochester High School after 23 years as a beloved Spanish teacher. She had been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Tri-Kappa. Patricia enjoyed walking, playing golf and bridge, following her family’s sporting events, watching basketball, and spending time with her grandchildren.

 

Survivors include her children Colleen Wood, Fishers, Indiana; Brad McMillen, Indianapolis, Indiana; Sheila and husband Too Keller, Carmel, Indiana; grandchildren Alyssa Wood, Bloomington, Indiana; Grant Wood, Notre Dame, Indiana; Gabbi Pinegar, Bloomington, Indiana; Luke, Lauren, and Karli Keller, all of Carmel, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard A. McLochlin.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 23, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Andrew DeKeyser officiating.

 

Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Thursday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana.

 

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana.

 

Visitors are reminded to follow COVID-19 guidelines of social distancing and mask wearing while attending.
