Kathleen A. Landing 70, Rochester

Kathleen A. Landing 70, Rochester, Indiana, and formerly of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away at 1:00 A.M. Wednesday July 28, 2021, at Life Care Center of Rochester.

She was born on August 15, 1950 in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of James Edward and Geraldine Theresa (Kush) Landing. She graduated from Michigan City Elston High School and received her Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University- South Bend, Indiana.

After graduating from college, Kathy moved to the Los Angeles, California area where she worked in the film and entertainment industry. She was employed by Paramount Studios for many years. She had served as assistant to Producers Bonnie Bruckheimer and Bette Midler during the filming of the 1988 movie “Beaches” and had also served as personal secretary to Producer/Writer/Director Michael Mann during filming of the 1981 movie “Thief”.  She continued working for Michael Mann during the television production of “Miami Vice” from 1984- 1989. In the early 1990’s she returned to the Midwest to be close to family, settling in the Chicago area. There she worked for the Chicago Historical Society. In her leisure time she enjoyed reading, old movies and being with family.

Survivors include her sister, Jean Landing, Michigan City, Indiana, brothers, William Landing, Michigan City, Indiana, Alan (Laurie) Landing, Michigan City, Indiana, one nephew and one great niece. She was preceded in death by her parents.
