Helen Siciliano, 89

Helen Siciliano, 89, passed away at 8:33 AM on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at her home.

On May 12, 1932, Helen Rizzo was born in Chicago, IL.  She was a cherished daughter of  Savario and Mary (Veltri) Rizzo.   Growing up she shared her childhood with two sisters, Rachele and Rosemarie, and a brother, Barney. With pride, Helen graduated in 1950 from Austin High School in Chicago.

In Chicago, Helen married Joseph T. Siciliano.  From their union came four beautiful children.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of eight grandchildren.  Sadly, he passed away on June 21, 2007.

With a strong work ethic, Helen worked at Petersen's Ice Cream, serving up some amazing flavors, treats and unique concoctions to her customers and friends.  For 31 years she served the best until she retired. She was known affectionately by her best friends as "Sweet Helen.                                                                                                  A  woman of strong faith, Helen was a devout Catholic who loved and treasured Virgin Mary. In her earlier years she was quite active at her church in Chicago.

The matriarch of the Siciliano family, Grandma Helen was proud to oversee three generations.  Her greatest lifetime accomplishment was her legacy. Conveying to all love unconditionally, she enjoyed the times spent together during the holidays and special family celebrations.

Left to cherish Helen's memory are three daughters: Denise Siciliano  (Al Majko) of Crystal Lake, IL, Diane Siciliano (Mark Tokarz) of Villa Park, IL, Donna Siciliano (Emil Cargola) of Carol Stream, IL; son Joseph T. Siciliano II  (Christine) of Rochester; eight grandchildren: Katie Majko, Joey Majko, David Siciliano, Kristen Siciliano, twins Dana and Anthony Siciliano, Joey Siciliano, Frankie Siciliano; sister Rachele Rimmer of Laguna Woods, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Helen in death are her parents, husband, sister Rosemarie Kuczek and brother Barney Rizzo.

A private family celebration of life will take place.
