Richard W. "Rich" Ulery, 76, of Rochester

Richard W. "Rich" Ulery , 76, of Rochester was surrounded by his loving family when he  passed away at 5:32 PM Friday, August 13, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital of Ft. Wayne. 

 

On May 28, 1945, Richard Wayne Ulery was born near Adamsboro in Cass County.  He was a treasured son of Richard E. and Martha Rosella Bean Ulery. Growing up he shared his childhood with four brothers and two sisters.  In 1964 he graduated with his class from South Caston High School.  

 

In Rochester, on November 11, 1992 Rich married Clara Ann Yaggie.  His memberships include the IOOF Lodge and  the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. 

 

Rich enjoyed manicuring the IOOF Cemetery lawn to perfection and playing cards with his lodge buddies on Wednesday nights. 

 

With a love for the Tippecanoe River, Rich floated and fished with his friends Mark and Denny.  He also enjoyed the game of golf, bowling, solving puzzles, western TV shows and Wheel of Fortune.  His favorite place to eat was Hardees. 

 

Left to cherish Rich's memory are his wife Clara, his children Richard Ulery II (Jessica) of Huntington, Andrew Ulery (significant other Jessica) of Warsaw,  Brian Ulery (Jessica) of Royal Center,  Randy Ulery (Paige) Logansport,  Penny Thompson (Scott) Burnettsville,  Tammy Hurd (Josh) Warsaw, brothers: Don Ulery and Bobby Ulery both of Logansport,  Larry "Jay" Ulery (Mary) of Peru, a sister  Betty Evans of Logansport 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and his faithful, overfed chocolate Lab Layla. 

 

Preceding Rich in death are his parents and siblings Shirley and Ronald. 

 

A celebration of the life of Mr. Rich Ulery will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, August  17 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester. 

 

His family will receive friends from 11:00 until the time of the service. 

 

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows will conduct a memorial service followed by the family service. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery.

 

The Fulton County Veteran's Honor Guard and the United States Army Honor's Team will accord military honors.   

 

Rich would like his friends to be attired casually and with their favorite ball caps.
