Dennis R. Scholl, 74, of Rochester

Dennis R. Scholl, 74, of Rochester passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at his home.

On December 2, 1946, Denny was born in Warsaw to Wildon H. and Sylvia Sellers Scholl.  Proudly he graduated from Rochester High School with the class of 1965.  During his years at RHS, he played baseball and held the state record in hurdles for many years. As a member of the Zebra marching band, he played the tenor saxophone and was a drum major.

Answering the call of patriotism, Denny was honorably discharged after serving our country during the Vietnam War with the United States Navy on the USS Constellation and USS Ranger as an aircraft avionics technician.

As an entrepreneur, Denny owned the Woodbutcher's Mill.  As a woodworking craftsman he restored vintage, heirloom wood furniture to perfection and created custom pieces. He was also accomplished in the skill of many electronic and mechanical trades.

Left to cherish Denny's memory are his mother, Sylvia Scholl of Rochester; brother Steven Scholl and wife Melinda of Noblesville; Laura Todd's daughter Jennifer and her 2 children of Olympia WA; nephews Eric Scholl and wife Andrea, and Adam Scholl and wife Sarah and their 3 children; and many friends.

Denny was preceded in death by his father and life partner Laura Todd.

A celebration of the life of Mr. Dennis R. Scholl will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 18, 2021 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester.

Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service in the funeral home.  

Military honors will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Navy Honors Team.

Interment will be in the Mentone Cemetery at a later date.
