G. "Devon" Moore, 80, of Rochester

G. “Devon” Moore, 80, of Rochester passed away at 12:08 PM on Monday, September 20,2021 at Woodlawn Hospital of Rochester.  

On, August 16, 1941, Gerald Devon was born in Rochester to John D. and Elverta F. Stout Moore. Growing up he shared his childhood with three sisters. In 1960, he proudly graduated from Kewanna High School.  He also served with the National Guard.

Gerald and Alberta L. Wipperman were married on May 30, 1965 in the Hillcrest Baptist Church of Rochester. They have shared 56 years of life’s adventures. Their union produced three children, Timothy, Stephen and Naomi. Another generation has been added to the family tree with the blessings of nine grandchildren.

Left to cherish the memories of Gerald are his wife, Alberta, his mother, Elverta Moore of Rochester; three children, Timothy Paul Moore and wife Amy of Westfield, Stephen Andrew Moore and wife Jessica of Huntington, Naomi Kay Fruchey and husband Michael of Huntertown; nine grandchildren, Alec, Timothy Austin, Ashlyn, Jaxon, Chase, Kayde`, Madison, McKinley, Monroe “Rayna”; two sisters, Betty Charlene Ward of Argos, Treva Louise Murphy and husband Roger of Plymouth and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Gerald in death are his father and sister Brenda Joyce Vermillion.

A celebration of the life of Gerald D. Moore will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday,   September 25, 2021 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St. Rochester. Pastor Thomas Meyers will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 11-1 on Saturday in the funeral home.

Entombment will be in the Akron Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1010 W. 9th St., Rochester, IN 46975.
