Edward W. Foor, 69, of Rochester

Edward W. Foor, 69, of Rochester passed away at 12:08 AM on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.

 

On June 16, 1952, Edward Wayne Foor was born in Rochester to Amos E. and Wanita K. Stoelting Foor. In 1970 he graduated from Akron High School.  Ed served in the National Guard US Army for 8 years and was honorably discharged.

 

Ed and Roberta Kay. Michel were married on October 28, 1972 in the 1st Brethren Church of North Manchester. They shared nearly 49 years of life’s adventures.  From their union came three beautiful daughters.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two more generations.

 

With a strong work ethic, Ed worked as a sales rep for The Andersons of North Manchester.  He officially retired from the company in the fall 2017, but returned to work part time.  He was also a member of the Moose Family Lodge and the Elk's Lodge both of Rochester.

 

With a passion for agriculture, Ed and Roberta owned and operated a farm where they oversaw a fine herd of Suffolk Sheep.  He was an accomplished equestrian, riding the Quarter Horses.  Each spring brought on the planting of a truck patch garden.  In addition Ed annually planted corn and soybeans.

 

Left to cherish Ed's memory are his wife, Roberta, three daughters, Aimee Ruggieri and husband Lou of Denver, NC,  Heather McGriff and husband Keith of Rochester, Haley McCreery and husband Derek of Columbia City;   8 grandchildren, Gavin Galloway, Aiden Galloway, Rylyn Galloway, Lillian Bowers, Grady McGriff, Asher McGriff, Izabella Coffing, Abbagail Coffing; two great-grandchildren, Malachi Jay Ries, Raelynn Kay Smith; sister, Jenean Rager, and husband Eldon of North Manchester.

 

Preceding Ed in death are his parents.

 

A celebration of the life of Mr. Edward W. Foor will be at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, October 2, 2021 in the Good Family Funeral Home of Rochester. Pastor Ed Haines will officiate.  

 

Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 PM on Friday, October 1, 2021 and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.

 

Military honors will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard and the US Army Honors Team.
