Mary Louise Perez, 76, passed away with her family by her side on August 18, 2021.
Mary was born on August 31, 1944 to Harley and Opal Armentrout Weidner. She was born and raised in rural Indiana. She graduated business college and spent her career as a bookkeeper.
In 1964 Mary married Paul Perez resulting in two lovely children, Charlette and Lee. in 1985 they adopted Andrew Muir into their family. Their marriage ended after nearly 30 years, however, they remained friendly. They moved to Arizona in 1980 and she resided there until her passing.
She loved playing cards with family and friends and was an avid poker player making many friends doing so. She loved reading non-fiction, and crocheted many beautiful afghans for family and friends. Mary was quick to make friends and was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harley and Opal Weidner; son PFC Lee Andrew Perez, US Marines; brothers, Wayne Weidner Sr and Harley Weidner;; niece Beverly Jo Perez; and nephew Wayne Weidner Jr. She leaves behind to carry her legacy children Charlette (Lance) Eastridge and Andrew (Trish) Muir; grandchildren: Cory Perez, Jesse and Liam Muir; and sister Martha (Terry) Dain as well as many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at The Cross, 100 W. 3rd St. Rochester. Pastor Martin Furrow will officiate.
Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service in the church. Local arrangements have been entrusted to Good Family Funeral Home of Rochester.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014
