Arlene C. Hounshell 80, Rochester

Arlene C. Hounshell 80, Rochester, passed away at 4:58 P.M. Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, Indiana.

 

She was born on December 20, 1940 in Rochester, Indiana the daughter of Fay J. and Mildred E. (Grossenbacher) Bathrick. She was a proud graduate of the Rochester High School Class of 1959. On June 19, 1960 at the Rochester First Baptist Church, she married Forrest “Dee” Hounshell. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2009.

 

Arlene had worked at as a school bus driver for Rochester Community Schools and had also worked for Olympic Fiberglass. For many years she had been a sales consultant for Tupperware and Avon Products. She had been a volunteer with the Tribal Trails Council of the Girl Scouts for over twenty five years, was an early member of the Rochester Lioness Club, participated with the Swingin’ Dudes Square Dance and had attended First Christian Church. In her leisure time she enjoyed crafting, sewing and spending time with family and friends.

 

Survivors include her daughters, Cindy (Dave) Steininger, Rochester, Indiana, Penny (Don) Bills, Huntsville, Alabama, Debbie (Mike) Walter, Nappanee, Indiana, Jodi (Andrew) Fincher, Akron, Indiana, Angie (Jason) Hounshell, Tippecanoe, Indiana, Holly (John) Fearnow, Rochester, Indiana, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, sisters, Karen (Dan) Gibson, Snohomish, Washington, Marilyn Townsend and Carolyn (Jim) Wagoner, all of Rochester, Indiana, brother, Keith (Carolyn) Bathrick, Rochester, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Jason Hounshell, brothers, Kenneth Bathrick and Gordon Bathrick and sisters, Ardith Adams and Gail Hayden.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 20, 2021, at New Life Church, Rochester, Indiana.

 

Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday November 19, 2021, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana and one hour prior to service Saturday at the Church.

 

Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arlene C. Hounshell Memorial Fund through the funeral Home.
