Bill "Barber Bill" Knauff, 81, of Rochester

Bill “Barber Bill” Knauff, 81, of Rochester passed away at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Woodlawn Hospital.


 

On October 3, 1940, Billy Ray was born in Peru, to Lowell and Naomi Teel Knauff. In 1958, he graduated from Deedsville High School. Growing up he shared his childhood with a sister and a brother.


 

Bill and Sharon S. Curtis were married on November 2, 1963 in Rochester. They shared 41 years of life’s adventures. Sadly, she passed away on June 22, 2204. From their union came a beautiful daughter Cassie.


 

On September 16, 2006, Bill and Martha “Marty” Dirks Marion were married at the Geneva Center.


 

For 51 years Barber Bill cut, trimmed, shaved and listened to the stories of many locals of Fulton County.  His love of 50’s and 60’s and country music, often included dancing the night away.  Spending time with the grandchildren, riding bikes was always enjoyed by all.  Bill liked to cast a line at the local lakes and rivers. To relax, Bill watched westerns, Gunsmoke was his favorite.


 

Left to cherish Bill's memory are his wife, Marty, daughter, Cassandra “Cassie” Miller and husband Matthew of Rochester; four grandchildren Caleb, Mackenzie, Makayla and Chloe and fiancé Issac Plumm; 4 step-children, Kathleen Risk, Margie Worrell, Wes Marion and wife Cindy, Mary Wireman and husband Ricky; step grandchildren,  Stephen Risk, Andrew Risk, Jacob Worrell, Emily Worrell, Sam Marion,  Erick Wireman, Cody Wireman; two sisters, Linda Hoover and husband Tom of Denver, Colleen Wilson of Perrysburg and several nieces and nephews. A great grandchild is due to arrive in June of 2022.


 

Preceding Bill in death are his parents, first wife Sharon, two granddaughters Madison Marie Knauff on August 18, 1998 and Corinna Miller on May 21, 2003, step- daughter Janet Marion and three brothers-in-law, Dennis Wilson, Ralph Curtis, Bob Curtis.


 

A celebration of the life of Billy Ray Knauff will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 2, 2021 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester. Mr. Hector Fernandez will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 PM on Wednesday December 1, 2021 and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.  Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 1359 Broadway Ste. 1509, New York, New York, 10018.  Electronic expressions of sympathy may be made to his family at www.goodfamilyfh.com.
