Olivia Jeanne [Gordon] Stewart, 74, of Grand Rapids, MI

Olivia Jeanne [Gordon] Stewart, 74, of Grand Rapids, MI went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 28, 2021.  She died at St. John Ascension Hospital in Detroit, MI from complications related toCOVID-19. 

 

She was born on February 7, 1947 in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.  She was the eldest daughter of the late James William and Jeanne Helene [Teller] Gordon and was referred to as “number one daughter”. 

 

Olivia was an “Army brat” and as such, she lived in Germany, Washington, D.C., Oklahoma, and Texas. She attended MacArthur High School in San Antonio, TX.  Later in life, Olivia proudly earned an Associate’s Degree from Davenport College.

 

On June 12, 1970, Olivia married the lateWendall Ray “Wendy” Stewart in Comstock Park, MI.  Theylived inWayland, MI for many years before moving to Grand Rapids.  She cherished their son, Patrick, who passed away on September 14, 2010 from complications related to Huntington’s disease.

 

Olivia had a long and successful career at Marshall Field’s/Macy’s in Grand Rapids. 

 

She enjoyed genealogy, crocheting, knitting, and being a pet mom.  She was a kind and generous person who loved helping and giving to others.  Olivia was known to send cards and blankets to her family and friends to commemorate numerous occasions.   Her nieces and nephews will treasure the blankets she made for them over the years. 

 

Olivia was a beloved wife, mother, & grandmother and will be remembered as the best big sister &aunt.  Olivia will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
