Jimmie Lee Clemans, 90, of Rochester

Jimmie Lee Clemans, 90, of Rochester passed away on December 11, 2021 at his home in Wynnfield Crossing.

 

He was born 29 May 1931 in Akron to Herbert and Anina (Miller) Clemans. On September 28, 1952 he married Doris L. Neff of Rochester and she survives.

 

Surviving in addition are their daughter, Sandra (Mike) Wildermuth, Macy; son David (Connie) Clemans, Melissa, TX; four grandchildren: Suzanna Elliot, Greeley, CO, Nicole (John) Barclay, Eaton, CO, Margaret (Molly) Clemans (Kirk) Farrell, Tulsa, OK and Jack Clemans, Axtell, TX; three great-grandchildren: Aedalin Barclay, Elijah Barclay and Temperance Barclay; and several nieces and nephews.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson Collin Clemans; brother Mark and sister-in-law Janeene Clemans; father and mother-in-law Clyde and Opal Neff; nephew Jeffrey Davidson; brother-in-law Richard Davidson; and sister-in-law Mary Neff.

 

Jim served his country in the Armed Forces during the Korean conflict. Being stationed in Alaska enabled his wife Doris to accompany him during his tour of duty where they enjoyed traveling about the state and learning of the native culture.

 

Jim was an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast spending most week-ends and free days touring with Doris at his back. Between motorcycle and camper trips together they traveled 49 of the 50 United States plus all of the Canadian Provinces.

 

Having been affiliated with farming and the dairy industry Jim was a Dean Food’s distributor and later a DHIA inspector in Indiana and in Colorado where he was their state manager.

 

A celebration of the life of Jimmie L. Clemans will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester. Dr. Mark Spencer will officiate.

 

Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.  

 

Interment will be in the Plainview Cemetery of Macy.  

 

Military Honors will be conducted by the Miami County Military Rites Unit and the US Army Honors Team.
