Bonnie M. Overmyer, 90, of Rochester

Bonnie M. Overmyer, 90, of Rochester, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Woodlawn Hospital.

 

On September 18, 1931, Bonnie Marie Castleman was born in Fulton County.  She was the treasured daughter of  Clyde Earl and Clarice C. Good Castleman. She graduated with the class of 1949 from Rochester High School. Growing up she shared her childhood with a brother, Jack.

 

In the Burton United Methodist Church, Bonnie married the love of her life, Mr. Ronald D. Overmyer  on May 7, 1950. They shared years 59 years of life’s adventures. Sadly, he passed away on March 10, 2009. Their union produced a son, Steve.   A grandson and great-grandchildren have been added to the family tree.

 

As a homemaker, Bonnie cherished the time with her family. Ron and Bonnie wintered in Texas. They enjoyed the warmth and even learned to line dance. She was a caregiver to several of her family members.  Going out to eat with friends was a great way to catch up on the local news and happenings. Bonnie was an avid gardener, her flower beds were beautiful. Being very crafty and creative, Bonnie had an eye for Swedish embroidery.

 

Left to cherish Bonnie's are her son, Steve Overmyer and companion Jannelle Smith of Rochester; a grandson Dustin Overmyer and companion Nikki of Rochester; brother Loyd “Jack” Castleman and wife Anita of Rochester and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Preceding Bonnie in death are her parents and husband.

 

A celebration of the life of Bonnie Marie Overmyer will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 17, 2021 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.  Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.  Electronic expressions of sympathy may be made to her family at www.goodfamilyfh.com
