Jean Louise Kuhn-Hatch, 98, North Manchester

Jean Louise Kuhn-Hatch, 98, North Manchester, died on December 25, 2021 at 4:00 a.m. at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN where she had been a resident for nine years.

 

She was born on September 23, 1923 in Milford, IN.  Her parents were Joseph and Jeanette (Darkwood) Krauter.  She attended Sidney High School.

 

Jean was formally from Akron, IN where she and her husband raised four daughters and then resided in Florida from 2002 to 2012.

 

Some of Jean’s interests were baking, fishing, hunting mushrooms and playing the piano for many, many years.  She worked at various places such as Wiles Department Store, Chamberlains and a cook at the Akron School.

 

Jean was married in North Manchester, Indiana to Neil Kuhn from 1943 to 1995 when he passed away.  She was then married to Don Hatch from 1999 to 2006 when he passed away in Sebring, Florida.

 

Surviving Jean are (4) daughters:  Pat (spouse Miles) Hoffman from Silver Lake, IN; Pam (spouse George) Moffit from Indianapolis, IN; Cathy French from North Manchester, IN; Nancy (spouse Andy) Shewman from North Manchester, IN; (9) grandchildren; (17) great-grandchildren; (7) great-great grandchildren.

 

Preceding Jean in death are her parents, husband Neil Kuhn, husband Don Hatch, son-in-law (Cathy’s husband) Charles French, grandson Brent Hoffman, great grandson Ryan Henderson, brother Joseph Krauter

 

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron, IN from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

 

The service will be at 12:00 noon following the visitation at the funeral home officiated by Pastor David Easton. 

 

Burial will be at the Akron IOOF Cemetery, Akron, IN.

 

Contributions may be given in her memory to the Akron United Methodist Church and/or the “Caring Circle” at Peabody Retirement Community. Envelopes will be furnished at the funeral home.
