Lonnie Edward King Jr. 69, of Culver

Lonnie Edward King Jr. 69, of Culver, passed away  on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Plymouth.

On November 9, 1952, Lonnie was born in Gary to Lonnie Edward King Sr. and Junita Steele.  Growing up he shared his childhood with three sisters and a brother.

Monterey and Culver had been home to Lonnie since he was 9 years old.  Fishing at Hartz Lake and Langenbaum Lake were his favorite places to relax.  He also enjoyed working on and restoring antique cars. 

As a carpenter, Lonnie worked in construction, building  and repairing homes.

Lonnie and Debbie Watson were married on October 7, 1978 in Chicago. They have shared 43 years of life’s adventures. They cherished the times with their blended family.

Left to cherish the memories of Lonnie are his wife Debbie, six sons, Tyson King and fiancé Kerrie Haimbaugh of Leiters Ford, Lonnie King III of South Bend, Travis King and fiancé Casey Howard of Culver, Brandon King and fiancé Brittany Howard of LaPorte, Marvin King and fiancé Sara Campbell of Culver, John Thomas of Winamac; daughter Yolanda Watson of Indianapolis; numerous grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister Ruby Steele of Gary, brother, Ronald King Sr. and wife Thelma of Harvey, IL and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Preceding Lonnie in death are his parents, daughter Jeanette, granddaughter, Jazmin King, two sisters, Beatrice Givens and Helene Adams.

 A celebration of the life of Lonnie Edward King Jr. will be at 3:30 PM on Friday, January 7, 2022 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester. Friends may visit with the family from 2-3:30 PM on Friday in the funeral home.
