Barry A. Griswold, 71, of Rochester

Barry A. Griswold, 71, of Rochester passed away at 12:47 AM on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Woodlawn Hospital.

 

On May 19, 1950, Barry Alan was born in Plymouth to Kenneth and Martha Crocker Griswold. Growing up, he was raised on a farm in German township and shared his childhood with a sister, Carol and a brother Richard.  Proudly he graduated from Bremen High School with the class of 1968.

 

With a strong work ethic, Barry started to work in 1973 for the Bearing Plant in Bremen. The plant moved to Plymouth and was known as RBC Bearing, Barry continued to serve until his retirement in 2016.

 

Fulton County became home soon after retiring.  He loved going to air shows and battle re-enactments.  As a senior patrol leader, he assisted at the Grissom Air Force Base with civil air patrol from 1996 – 2005.

 

Left to cherish Barry's memory are his sister, Carol Griswold Housouer of Rochester; sister-in-law, Judy Crum Griswold; nephews, Chris Griswold and wife Robin of Bremen, Jeremy Housouer of Rochester, Kenny Griswold and wife Ashley of Plymouth; niece, Anglea Griswold DeValt and companion Jeremy Jameson of Royal Center; great nephews, Dustin Griswold, Garrott Griswold, Edward Griswold, Jessie DeValt, Zane DeValt, Vannon DeValt; great nieces, Jelayne Griswold, Maggie Griswold and Mariska Griswold.

 

Preceding Barry in death are his parents and brother, Richard “Dick” Griswold.

 

A celebration of the life of Barry Alan Griswold will be at 11:00 AM  on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester.  Rev. Luke Vasicek  will officiate.

 

Friends may visit with the family from 9-11 on Saturday in the funeral home.
