Doris A. Turnpaugh, 79, of Nyona Lake

Doris A. Turnpaugh, 79, of Nyona Lake, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at 4:52 AM on Friday, January 14, 2022 at her daughter’s home in Avilla.

 

On October 24, 1942, Doris Ann Ogle was born in Rochester to Russell Eldon and Helen Marie McClaran Ogle. She was the oldest of eight children sharing her childhood with a brother and six sisters..

 

With a strong work ethic, Doris worked at Chamberlains Products of Akron, Robertsons Transformer and later retired from, Quick Clean Laundry-Mat.

 

As an avid gardener, Doris planted beautiful flower and vegetable gardens annually. Baking delicious cakes and pies were always appreciated by family and friends. Doris could often be found quilting blankets, gifts of warmth while she watched her favorite TV westerns. She was an expert at solving word search puzzles.  For a change of pace, she enjoyed shopping adventures with her best friend Joan.

 

Left to cherish the memories of Doris are daughter Tina LaRowe and companion Phillip Duncan   of Avilla two sons, Tim Depoy and wife Misty of Rochester and Jason Turnpaugh of Nyona Lake; five grandchildren, Tyler LaRowe, Alyssa LaRowe, Miranda Turnpaugh, Kane Turnpaugh, Bailey Turnpaugh, a great-granddaughter Opalynn Jones; two sisters, Barb Thompson and husband Ron of Rochester, Shirley Cook and husband Jim of Denver; brother Tom Ogle of Mexico; special friend Joan Bender, several nieces and nephews and her treasured canine companion, Muffy a tan and gray Shih-Tzu.

 

Preceding Doris in death are her parents, four sisters, Karen Stuber, Diane Mitchell, Patricia Powell and Betty Miller.

 

A celebration of the life of Doris Turnpaugh will be at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester.

Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service.
