Russell L. Breidinger, 81, of Rochester

Russell L. Breidinger, 81, of Rochester, passed away at 4:15 A.M. Friday March 18, 2022, at Hickory Creek of Rochester.

He was born on September 22, 1940 in Spring Arbor, Michigan, the son of Claude and Leda (Campbell) Breidinger. On July 22, 1969 in Rochester, Indiana, he married Helen I. Fry. Russ has been reunited with his soulmate Helen, who preceded him in death on October 14, 2021.

Russ retired from the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the United States Air Force, he returned to Rochester and worked for Comfort Inn and Super Eight Motels for over twenty years. He enjoyed gun collecting, going to the shooting range, bowling, watching sports and was an avid Notre Dame fan.

Survivors include his daughter, Kim Jones, Georgia, son, Ryan (Leslie) Breidinger, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Amy Johnson, Georgia, Alexandria Coleman, Rochester, Indiana, Elyse Coleman, Rochester, Indiana, sister, Jean Miller, Michigan, brother-in law, John (Cindy) Fry, Rochester, Indiana, sister-in-law, Shirley (Jack) Shubat, Oak Park, Illinois, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ora Schoonover, Leonard Bakeman, Robert Benson, James Schoonover, Gary Breidinger, Claude Frederick Breidinger, sisters, Renee Hartuniewiez, Wilma Miller, Emma Porter, and Vera Haire.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana, where military rites will be conducted by the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Honor Guard. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday and one hour prior to service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Fulton Cemetery, Fulton, Indiana.
