Mrs. Patsy J. Sewell, 84, of Kokomo

Mrs. Patsy J. Sewell, 84, of Kokomo, passed away at 8:40 PM on Friday, March 25, 2022 at McGivney Healthcare of Carmel.

On April 3, 1937, Patsy Jean Coleman was born in Miami County to Walter and Helen Brant Coleman. Patsy was the second born of five children. She shared her childhood with a sister and three brothers. In 1955, Patsy proudly graduated from Bunker Hill High School. As a baton twirling majorette, she led the high school marching band. She also was accomplished playing the accordion.

Patsy and Jack G. Sewell were married on July 5, 1958 in Bunker Hill. They shared 45 years of life’s adventures.  From their union came three wonderful children, Kathy, Brian and Jon.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two grandchildren. Sadly, Jack passed away on April 18, 2006.

A woman of devotion, Patsy had a vibrant faith in Christ that influenced her family and friends. She was a former member of Amboy's  McGrawsville United Methodist Church, where she spent countless hours helping in many capacities.  She was actively involved in Emmaus Walks.

After 25 years, Patsy retired from General Motors where she was a member of the UAW Local.  Patsy enjoyed flower gardening, crafting, auctions and garage sales.  She was very talented with painting and refurbishing antiques. Celebrating in Waco, Texas at Magnolia Farms, made her 81st birthday extra special as she was an avid fan of Chip and Joanna Gaines.

Summer vacations in Birchwood, Wisconsin were enjoyed on Big Chetac Lake by the whole family. They annually looked forward to heading up to the cabin for adventures in fishing and great relaxation.

Left to cherish Patsy's memory are daughter, Kathy L. Crowe and husband Randy of Kokomo; two sons: Brian J. Sewell and wife Sue of Rochester, Jon P. Sewell of Galveston; two grandchildren: Bethany Anderson and husband Tyler, and Nathan Sewell and wife Amanda; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Patsy in death are her parents, husband, sister, Sherry Brinson and  three Coleman brothers: Ronald, Jimmy, and Max.

A celebration of the life of Mrs. Patsy Jean Sewell will be at 11:30 AM on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Bennett’s Switch Community Church, 2261 West State Road 18, Kokomo, IN 46901.  Pastor Kenny Cole will officiate.

Friends may visit with her family from 10:00 AM through the hour of the service in the church.
