Christine Sue Coffing, 67, Sparks, Nevada

Christine Sue Coffing, 67, Sparks, Nevada, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Renown Health, Reno, surrounded by her children.

 

Born May 6, 1955, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Donald Leroy and Donna Jean Zellers Coffing.  

She was a 1973 graduate of North Miami High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1976 until 1982. She received her degree from the University of Texas, Austin in 1986, and was Chief Financial Officer for Girl Scouts of Sierra Nevada, where she dedicated much of her life and retired in 2020.

 

Following her retirement, she traveled, spent time with grandchildren, and dove into her sewing projects.  

Survivors include her children, Jessica (Elizabeth) Bond, Colorado; and Amanda (Joshua) Azucena, California; grandchildren, Ben Harvey, Violet Harvey, and Tobias Azucena; siblings, Twila June (Dave) Collins, Denver; Michael Andrew (Debbie) Coffing; Michigan; Anita Lou (Eugene) Sharp, Newburgh; Mark Eric (Bonnie) Coffing; Peru; and Daniel James (Amy) Sofianos; step-father, Eugene Correll, Avon Park, Florida; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Zion Chapel Church, 915 S. Broadway, Peru, Indiana, with Pastor Rod Correll officiating.

Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County with military rites provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit.

 

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, at the church.
