David Wayne Willard, 52, of Rochester

David Wayne Willard, 52, of Rochester, passed away at 8:20 PM, on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.

 

On October 1, 1969, David was born in Rochester to Wayne M. and Frankie L. Swope Willard. Proudly he graduated with the class of 1988 from Rochester High School.

 

David and Audrey “Jeanine” Spradling were married on September 5, 1998. They have shared 24 years of life’s adventures.

David worked at Rochester Metal Products, retiring in 2012. To relax, David listened to the 80’s music.  He loved technology, building computers and was self-taught to use a 3D printer program and software.

 

Building model cars and creating dioramas were also favorite hobbies. Fords were his favorite mode of transportation. 
 

David was kindhearted and thoughtful, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of home and family.  He had a big heart for animals and pets, once rescuing an orphan squirrel.

 

Left to cherish the memories of David are his wife Jeanine; three daughters:  Merissa Spradling and partner Kenneth Taylor of Chicago,  twins, Aubrey Danielle Willard  and fiancé Cameron Patterson of Nappanee, Amber Victoria Willard and partner Robert Kite of Rochester; two granddaughters: Emma Josephine Spradling, Gwendalyn Danielle Patterson; mother, Frankie Swango of Rochester; four siblings:  Valerie and Eric Hammel of Rochester, Jeremy and Kellie Swango of Rochester, Drew Swango of Rochester, Chad and Misty  Swango of Holiday, FL; brothers-in-law Gene and Autumn Spradling, Phil Spradling and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

Preceding David in death are his father Wayne Marion Willard in December of 1984 and step-father Mel Swango in October of 2015.

 

A celebration of the life of David Wayne Willard will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday,   July 21, 2022 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester. Pastor Wanda Carter will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 PM  on Wednesday  and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Thursday.

 

Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
