Ershel Carlile, 78, of Rochester, passed away at 7:05 PM on Monday, August 29, 2022 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Mishawaka.

On April 6, 1944 Arthur Ershel was born in Kentucky and was adopted by Herb and Setta Fields Carlile. Fulton County was home for most of his life. After high school, Ershel answered the call of patriotism and joined the US Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1967.

Ershel and Marie “Micky” Catherine Sturgeon Harrold were married on October 8, 1970 in the First Christian Church of Rochester. They shared 50 years of life’s adventures. Sadly, she passed away on December 3, 2020.

Many will remember Ershel at The Barbershop of Akron for his grooming, using a comb and razor. He also worked as a forklift driver at R.R. Donnelly of Warsaw.

As lifetime members of the Manitou Moose Family Lodge, the Carliles enjoyed their reserved seating while gaming. Over the years they also loved to dance. Ershel and Micky often went “junking” and found treasures at the local garage sales.
