Candace L. “Candy” Bitterling, 75, of Knox, formerly of Winamac, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Wintersong Village in Knox.
She was born on December 3, 1946 in Knox to the late Elmer “Bud” and Jennie [Bieniewicz] Phillips, Jr.
On April 7, 1984, Candy married Jay E. “Moondoggie” Bitterling in Beardstown, IN. He passed away on August 31, 2019.
Candy had previously worked at Winamac Steel and Eaton’s in Winamac. Over the years, she also did tax preparation and sold insurance. She was a longtime member of the Winamac Eagles.
Candy enjoyed playing BINGO as well as drinking Coca-Cola and coffee. She also enjoyed watching her husband, sons, and grandsons race. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Candy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will host a Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 2 PM to 5 PM EDT at the Winamac Eagles.
Private Burial will take place at Mt. Zion Franklin Twp. Cemetery in Winamac.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice or Warrior Youth Baseball.
