Mike Swafford, 58, of Akron, passed unexpectedly at 9:29 am, Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022 at his residence. 

Michael was born on Sept. 23, 1964 in Kosciusko County, Indiana to the late Claude and Mary Ann (Willard) Swafford.  He married on May 2, 1993 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to Debra Netherton, she survives. 

Mike was a graduate of Warsaw High School and furthered his education at Lincoln Tech in Indianapolis attaining his credentials as a certified mechanic.  He was a Truck Driver for many years for The Moving Company of Warsaw and Metzger’s Trucking of Silver Lake.  He also was a painter with Smith Painting and Lee Painting.  Mike was a believer in God and attended several different churches over the years. He enjoyed fishing, drawing, animals and birds, gardening, and mowing his yard. 

He is survived by his wife Debbie Swafford of Akron; children Matthew Swafford of Kentucky, Daniel and wife Rayann Swafford of Pennsylvania,, Whitney and husband Jerry Mort of Indiana, Morgan Swafford of Indiana; grandchildren Aiden, Rainie, Aolani, Everly, Lauren, and Revan; siblings Ricky Lee Swafford of Akron and Patricia and husband Cordell Hull of Silver Lake; and nephews Damon Prater and Adam Hull.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Bentley. 

The funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022 at Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana. 

The interment will take place following the service in the Akron Cemetery, Akron, Indiana. 

Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm, Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, Indiana.
