June Ellen Weber, 93, formally of rural Akron

June Ellen Weber, age 93, formally of rural Akron, died on November 30, 2022 (11:02 p.m.) at Peabody Retirement Community of North Manchester, Indiana where she had resided for one year.

She was born on June 3, 1929 in Kewanna, Indiana to George and Hazel (Heater) Bowers.

She grew up in Rochester, Indiana attending Rochester High School.

June married Walter Weber on December 19, 1948 in Rochester, Indiana.  They shared the next 64 years living on a dairy farm in Akron, Indiana raising Holstein cows and raising their five children.  Besides being a housewife, June was a bus driver for the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation for 22 years.  She also worked at Walmart in the snack bar and then as a greeter.

June and Walter loved to travel.  Many trips were to Florida, out West and several trips to Michigan.  She enjoyed camping, collecting owls and loved her grandchildren.  Her home church was First Christian Church, Rochester, Indiana.

Surviving June are (4) daughters: Sandra (Max) Blocker of North Manchester, IN; Louanne Weber of Akron, IN; Pat (Steve) Betten of Wabash, IN; Debra (Darryl) Peters of Warsaw, IN; (1) son: David (Susan) Weber of Warsaw, IN; sister-in-law: Lois Bowers of Rochester, IN; 13 grandchildren, 26 (plus one on the way) great-grandchildren and 4 (plus one on the way) great great-grandchildren.

Preceding June in death are her parents, husband Walter (2012), (3) brothers: Gerald, George and James Bowers; (2) sisters: Mary Jane Bowers and Carolyn Wynn; grandson Scott Sechrist.

Visitation and Service will be Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester Street, Akron, Indiana.  Viewing and visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m.  The service will follow at 1:30 with Pastor Jody Tyner officiating from the Walk by Faith Community Church.  Burial will follow at the Rochester IOOF Cemetery in Rochester, Indiana.
