Mariam J. Wagenknecht 88, Rochester

Mariam J. Wagenknecht 88, Rochester, passed away at 3:33 A.M. Monday, December 12, 2022, at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac, Indiana.

She was born on January 29, 1934 in Marshall County, Indiana, the daughter of Aubrey L. and Anna Marie (Shoemaker) Kelley. She married Lawrence C. Wagenknecht and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2000.

Mrs. Wagenknecht had worked as a bookkeeper/clerical worker for a bank in Culver, Indiana, a construction company in Indianapolis, Burton Plumbing and Heating and for Kelley Real Estate, both of Rochester. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading novels, and riding motorcycles with her late husband.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Alysha (Mike) Marrs, Rochester, Indiana, Hannah (Joey) Bohm, Granger, Indiana, along with their mother, Gretchen Wagenknecht, Rochester, Indiana, great grandchildren, Maxwell Marrs and Amelia Marrs, both of Rochester, Indiana, Reed Bohm and Willow Bohm, both of Granger, Indiana, brothers, James Ed (Susan) Kelley, Rochester, Indiana, Walter Kelley, Plymouth, Indiana, Richard (Marcia) Kelley, Florida, sisters, Sheila (Larry) Shivers, Plymouth, Indiana, Janet (Jim) Saunders, Plymouth, Indiana, Sandra Copas, Plymouth, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Michael Wagneknecht and Kenneth Wagenknecht, sister-in-law, Dee Kelley, and brother-in-law, Ray Copas.

Private services and interment will take place in the Culver Masonic Cemetery, Culver, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanbrosfh.com
