Joan L. Winters, 87, of Monterey, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver. 

She was born on July 30, 1935 in Hammond, IN to the late Clarence and Evelyn [Miller] Natke.  

Joan graduated from Hammond High School and worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Margaret Hospital.  She married Frank L. Winters in 1958.  She was a devoted wife and mother.

Joan was an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac.  She was an animal lover.  She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Joan endured many health issues over the past two years, but Frank stood by her side and cared for her.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be from 12 Noon – 1 PM EST Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac

Funeral Services will be held at at 1 PM EST Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN with Rev. Daniel Shine officiating.

Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Winamac
