Roseleen "Rosie" Day, 102 years,, of Macy

Roseleen “Rosie” Day, 102 years, 8 months and 14 days, of Macy, passed away at 2:10 AM on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at her residence.

On April 22, 1920, in Deedsville, Rosie was the second child born to Ray M. and Zella M. Kerschner Robins. Growing up she shared her childhood with three sisters and one brother. Proudly she graduated from Deedsville High School with the Class of 1939.  As a Deedsville Trojan, she was her senior class president and was active in the school plays.

Rosie and Bower “Sie” Day were married on February 24, 1941 in Hammond. They shared 38 years of life’s adventures. Sadly, he passed away on December 27, 1979. Their union produced a daughter and five sons.  She was blessed with three more generations added to the family tree.

As a homemaker, Rosie cherished the time with her family. With a great work ethic, she worked at Hart Schaffner & Marx of Rochester. Her memberships include the Macy Christian Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Macy Fire Department Auxiliary where she served as a past president.

Rosie was so loved, she was honored on her 100th birthday with a drive by parade of 100 cars. She loved parades and dressing up as Emmett Kelly. She lived and loved life, we can’t imagine the changes she had seen.

Left to cherish the memories of Rosie are a daughter, Sianna Deeds of Macy; a son, Robin Day and wife Pamela of Rochester; 16  grandchildren: Donald Day and wife Jami, Tammera Briggs and husband Donald, Kimberly Brooks and husband Shawn, Mindy Linn and husband Greg, Michael Day, Michelle Stafford and husband David, Marcella Shepherd and husband Randy, Eric Day, Naomi Taulbee, Monique Day, Lacey Day, Tiphany Brower and husband Levi, Aaron Day, Donna Day, Alex Kollman, Eric Saddlemire ; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister Gaythel Boswel of Swayze; two daughters-in-law: Terri Day and Barb Day; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Rosie in death are her parents; husband; four sons: Myron “Bud” Day,  Rex Day, Raymond Day, David Day; three grandchildren: Daniel Day, Ann Day Saddlemire, Tracy Day; two sisters Ruby Walker and Lucile Bartlett; brother Everett “Abe” Robins; two daughters-in-law: Pat Day, Mona Day; and son-in-law Jerry Deeds.

A celebration of the life of Roseleen Day will be at 12 noon on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St. Rochester.

Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service in the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Plainview Cemetery.
