Gary Cooper, 69, of Deltona, Florida, passed away January 19, 2023 at Parkside Health and Rehabilitation.

He was born in Plymouth, Indiana on January 30, 1953. Gary graduated from Argos High School with the class of 1971.

He was married to Ellen Cooper, which preceded him in death. Gary worked as a Meat Cutter for Winn Dixie and Publix for many years. He was a member of West Volusia Moose Lodge 2538.  Gary was known for being a hard core Notre Dame fan, his infectious laugh, playing computer video games, and loving Christmas.  Our dad/grandpa is one that loved taking time for fun at adventure parks, camping and making homemade ice cream.

He was survived by his Daughters; Shelly Cooper (Matt Weber), Cecilia (Ron Coleman), Tanya (Jeff Preski). Stepchildren; Matt and Crystal Pernell. Grandchildren; Treyton, Cameron, Calvin and Ashlyn Preski, Gabrielle Franklin, Kadience Omen, Cameron and Ronnie Coleman Jr,. Brothers; Randy Cooper, Clifford (Kip) Wheeler, Shawn Cooper. Sisters; Debra Cooper, Deanna Howard, and Denise Snyder. Nieces; Heather Sender, Brooke Wheeler, Kaci Sackett, Tori Cooper and Kaleigh Albert. Nephews; Chris Cooper, Kevin Cooper Jr., Nick Wheeler, Jordan Salazar and Ryan Salazar. Also surviving are his aunt and uncle Gene and Janice Cooper.

Gary was preceded in death by wife Ellen Cooper. Parents; Norma Kinder and Leroy Cooper, Sister Marsha Cooper and Brother Kevin Cooper.

Gary’s final resting place will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Argos Indiana along with his wife Ellen.

A Graveside Funeral Services for both Gary and Ellen will be held on Saturday March 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana with Rev. Max  Milton of the Argos United Methodist Church.

Burial will follow at the cemetery.
