Cynthia L. “Cindy” Richardson, 77, Peru, passed away at 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Hickory Creek of Peru. 

Born on March 8, 1946, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, she was the daughter of Ted Whitt and the former Maxine McClish.  On November 1, 1969, in Peru, Indiana, she was married to John E. Richardson, and he survives.

Cindy graduated in the first class from Maconaquah High School in 1964 and later retired from Delco Electronics.  She was very active with the Miami County 4-H program and was a member of the Perry Dorites Home Extension Club.  During the past year, she had been attending Abundant Life Church.  

Survivors include her husband, John Richardson, Peru; daughter, Kelly Haupert, Macy; son Blain (Jennifer) Richardson, Chili; four grandchildren, Sarah Correll (Rian Browne), Jamestown; Abby (Jared) Slabaugh, Goshen; Holly Richardson, Chili; and Dave Richardson, Chili; and a sister, Candy Somers, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Lana Whitt.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4-7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023, at the Miami County Fairgrounds Community Building.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County 4-H Fair Board.
