Jonathan G. Ginter, 60, of Akron and formerly of Eastern Kentucky

Jonathan G. Ginter, 60, of Akron and formerly of Eastern Kentucky. passed at 2:22 pm, Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Lutheran Hospital of Ft. Wayne, Ind.
 
John was born on Aug. 16, 1962 in Winchester, Kentucky to the late Roy Irvin and Ruby (Boyd) Ginter. He married on Aug. 15, 1985 in Winchester, Kentucky to Angie Cheek, she survives.

He was a millwright in Georgetown, Kentucky for many years. After moving to Indiana in 2012, to be closer to his grandkids, he became an all around handyman. He served on many missions trips, with Brother Matthew Gullion of First Baptist Church of Ossian, all over the United States since 2005. He has helped many churches providing free labor as they were building new buildings, remodeling existing buildings, or helping people who have lost everything due to natural disasters.
 
He is survived by his children Brittany Ginter and Paul Fites of Akron and Casey and wife Jessica Ginter of Holly Ridge, North Carolina; grandchildren Bricklyn Hall, Chris Bailey, Wyatt Ginter, and Hayden Ginter; siblings Cheryl and husband Bearl Ashcraft, Judy and husband Joe Jackson, Tenna and husband Jerry Nicely, Kiayam Ginter, and Tony Ginter.
 
John was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Roy E. Ginter and Edward J. Newby.
 
Following his wishes, no visitation or services will be held.

Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the First Baptist Church 1001 Dehner Dr. Ossian, IN 46777 with checks to help with the Mission Fund.
