Charlotte M. Berger, 94, of Star City

Charlotte M. Berger, 94, of Star City, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. 

 

She was born on December 19, 1928 in rural White County, IN to the late Isadore V. and Gloria M. [Snow] Roth.  She graduated from Royal Center High School in 1946 and attended St. Francis College in Ft. Wayne, IN. 

 

On July 21, 1951, Charlotte married Raymond I. “Ray” Berger at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski, IN.  He passed away on March 14, 2019.

 

Charlotte was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski where she participated in the Christian Mothers Society, taught Catechism, and served as church organist for nearly 20 years.  She was a member of the Niteliters Home Ec Club. 

 

Charlotte enjoyed painting and writing poetry as well as music in general.  She also enjoyed crossword puzzles (confidently in ink) and traveling internationally with her late husband, Ray.  Charlotte had the unique experience of serving as a juror during the Ford Pinto Trial.  She retired from Winamac High School in 1998 where she had worked as an Audio-Visual Aide.

 

More than anything, Charlotte loved her family very much and will be deeply missed.

A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 4:00 PM EDT Wednesday, March 29, 2023at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, and will be followed by a Christian Mother’s Service.

 

Visitation will be from 4:30-8:00 PM EDT Wednesday, March 29, 2023at Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

 

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM EDT Thursday, March 30, 2023at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski, with Rev. Andrew DeKeyser officiating. 

Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery South in Pulaski. 

 

Memorial Contributions may be made in the form of Mass Intentions.
