Marguerite Utter Swick, 99, formerly of the Beaver Dam community, passed at 5:55 pm, Friday, March 31, 2023 at Wynnfield Crossing of Rochester, Ind.
Marguerite was born on Feb. 19, 1924 in Fulton County, Ind. to the late Robert and Bina (Swartzlander) Utter. She had three brothers Morse Utter, Cedric Utter, and Jackie Utter. She was a 1942 graduate of Akron High School. Marguerite married on March 1, 1947 in Akron, Ind. to Leonard B. Swick, who preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1999. They shared 52 years together.
Marguerite was a longtime member of the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker, sharing in all aspects of maintaining her home. She took great pride in her property and kept it immaculate. Along with all of her responsibilities at home she had also worked for Topps, Farmers Merchant Bank, Chamberlain’s, and retired from Akron School where she worked in the cafeteria.
She is survived by 5 Nephews, and 2 Nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leonard; and brothers Morse, Cedric, and Jackie; and a nephew.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Ind. with Pastor Wanda Carter officiating.
The interment will take place following the funeral service in the Akron Cemetery, Akron, Ind. next to her husband.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to the time of the service at the funeral home.
