Mary M. Melton 93, Rochester

Mary M. Melton 93, Rochester, passed away at 5:45 P.M. Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.

 

She was born on December 24, 1929 in Logansport, Indiana, the daughter of Rocco and Mary T. (Coluccio) Mittica.

 

On September 27, 1950 in Logansport, Indiana, she married Curtis B. Melton. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1990.

 

Mrs. Melton had been a bookkeeper for various businesses and a homemaker. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning most of her produce for the winter, working in her yard, walking, being with her church family and going on outings with her dear friends.

 

Survivors include her children, Greg (Dana) Melton, Swayzee, Indiana, Mark (Julie) Melton, Rochester, Indiana, Dan (Shelly) Melton, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Jeremy (Maranda) Melton, Wabash, Indiana, Steven (Becca) Melton, North Manchester, Indiana, Jenna Melton, Rochester, Indiana, Mitchell (Jessica) Melton, Akron, Indiana, Justin Melton (Courtney Melton), Macy, Indiana, Brandon (Maddie Neag) Rochester, Indiana, Michelle(TaNia) Grove, Wisconsin, Hallie Melton, Nashville, Tennessee, David Baker, Indianapolis, Indiana, twenty four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, special friends, Barb, Deb, Robynn, Trinity and Becky.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Gregory Lauretti, brothers, Frank Mittica, Dominic Mittica, Nick Mittica, sisters, Josephine Graybeal and Angeline A. Schroder.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday April 19, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester.

 

Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 18, 2023 and 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Wednesday April 19, 2023 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana.

 

Rosary will be recited at 7:15 P.M. Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the funeral home.

 

Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
