Timothy L. Bahney, 62, of rural Akron

Timothy L. Bahney, 62, of rural Akron, gained eternal victory in glory at 8:09 pm, Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Peabody Retirement Community of North Manchester, Ind.
 
Tim was born on Oct. 29, 1960 in Peru, Ind. to the late John L. and Barbara Jo (Mygrant) Bahney.  He was a 1979 graduate of North Miami High School.  He then attained his Associates Degree in Automotive and Diesel Technology from the former NBC Tech of Lima, Ohio. He married on Sept. 12, 1987 in the Calvary Baptist Church of Wabash, Ind. to Jane Bass, she survives.

Tim was a lifelong dairy farmer, until his ALS diagnosis in 2017. He tended to his cattle and the land with his Case IH equipment. Tim enjoyed sports and coached all 4 of his children through the years. He was always in attendance at all of their events. He had been an active member of the North Miami Booster Club. He was a devoted family man and an Indiana Hoosier Basketball fan. His faith was a huge part of his life and he was baptized in the Tippecanoe River on Aug. 25, 2018.
 
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Jane Bahney of Akron; children Alex and wife Hannah Bahney of Rochester and children Amelia, Marlee, and Elise,  Hannah Bahney and wife Jessica Knudsen-Bahney of Indianapolis, Ind., Clayton Bahney and Kenzie Howard of Akron and children Aubree Bahney, Greyson Howard, and Paisley Kline, and Garrett Bahney of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters Karen and husband Kevin Wilson of Walton, Sandy and husband Steve Linn of Macy, and Tammy and husband Mayo Medina of Fulton; brothers Allen and wife Lane Bahney of Macy, and Ted and wife Missy Bahney of Wabash; mother-in-law Betty Bass of Wabash, Ind.; sister-in-law Susan Bass and wife Kendra Ducy.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents John and Barb, father-in-law Richard Bass, sister-in-law Beth Arwood and her husband Lee.
 
The funeral service will take place at 10:00 am, Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Ind. with Pastor Thad Stewart officiating.
 
The interment will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery of Marion, Ind.
 
Visitation hours will be from 2 pm to 7 pm, Friday, May 5, 2023 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, Ind.
