Billy D. Hoffman 93, Rochester, and former Florida resident

Billy D. Hoffman 93, Rochester, and former Florida resident for over twenty years, passed away at 5:08 A.M. Sunday, May 28, 2023 at his residence. 

He was born on April 7, 1930 in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Delbert A. and Bernice (Carr) Hoffman. On July 5, 1963 he married Nancy Jane Rensberger. She preceded him in death on October 28, 1993.

 Billy was an U.S. Marine Corps veteran having served in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. Billy spent his professional career in the printing business. Early in his career he traveled around the country providing printing repair service and later serving as Director of Operations for the State of Indiana in their printing operations. He had been a member of International Typographical Union Local 590 where he had served as President and Treasurer. He had been a member of the Moose Lodge, Elk’s Lodge, American Legion and was a 32 Degree member of the Masonic Lodge. In his spare- time he enjoyed printing, and trips in the Spring to Minnesota for Walleye fishing.

Survivors include his children, Patricia (Vern) Hibner, St. Cloud, Florida, Janet Hoffman, Kewanna, Indiana, Susan Van Lake, Kewanna, Indiana, Michael (Jody) Hoffman, Winamac, Indiana, four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, brother, Art (Lela) Hoffman, Rochester, Indiana, sister, Joan “Pat” Clary, Rochester, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dennis Van Lake and uncle, Dean Carr, and brother-in-law, Dick Clary.

No services are scheduled.

Private interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth, Indiana. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home.
