Ronald “Satch” Eugene Huffman, 72, of rural Macy, passed on May 29, 2023 at his residence. 

Satch was born on Feb. 9, 1951 in Rochester, Indiana to the late Max W. and Phyllis Virginia (Summers) Huffman. He married on Jan. 25, 1977 in Rochester, Indiana to Doris A. Monroe Freese, she preceded him in death on May 6, 2020.

Satch always was an animal lover. On his small farm, he raised mammoth donkeys, horses, cows, chickens, peacocks, and many other animals. He enjoyed many kinds of racing, gambling, and going to Las Vegas.  

He is survived by his siblings Tom Huffman and wife Nancy of Rochester; Bonnie Fields and companion Paul Pyle of Akron; and Max Huffman and wife Lori of Mentone; a daughter; and 3 step children survive. Satch was preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris, and a brother Donald Wayne Huffman.

Following Satch’s wishes, no services will be held. 

The arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana.
