Jean Garber, 98, of Rochester

Jean Garber, 98, of Rochester, passed away at 12:17 P.M. Friday, August 4, 2023 at Woodbridge Health Campus, Logansport, Indiana.

She was born on February 25, 1925, in Rochester, Indiana, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth B. (Dickinson) McDougle.

On August 23, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana, she married Hubert Carl Garber. He preceded in death on April 1, 2007.

Jean had been a homemaker most of her life and had worked as a Deputy Auditor in Fulton County. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church and Tri-Kappa Sorority. Jean loved playing cards with her family and was an avid Bridge Player for many years. She enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening, traveling across the country with her husband, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Gretchen E. (Braxton Eikenberry) Coplen, Akron, Indiana, Jennifer (Tim) Quick, Plymouth, Indiana, grandchildren, Daniel S. (Kelly) Coplen, Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael (Adrianne) Coplen, Carmel, Indiana, Megan E. (Ryan) Lebo, Plymouth, Indiana, Nathan (Amber) Quick, Bangkok, Thailand, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Helen Elizabeth Smith, Mary Deniston Jennens, and Kathleen Downs.

Private interment will take place at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Fulton County Hope or United Ministries. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana.
