Pamalene Schaaf, 60, of Akron, passed at 7:30 pm, Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023 at Lutheran Hospital of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Pam was born on Sept. 24, 1962 in Warsaw, Indiana to John F. and Zefie (Conley) Jackson. She married on Dec. 25, 2007 to James M. Schaaf, who preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 2010.

Pam was forklift driver for Wabash Valley of Silver Lake and then worked for Walmart in Logansport. She loved negotiating at garage sales and going on vacation, especially Tennessee. She also loved to care for her animals. Pam was a hero, a fighter, and a warrior that fought cancer until the very end.

She is survived by her daughter Chrissy and husband Ryan Phillips of Peru; son Tony Rameriz and Amanda Woods of Akron; 4 Grandchildren; a Great Grandson; mother Zefie Jackson of Akron; sister Shirley and husband Kenith Isaacs of Akron;

Pam was preceded in death by her father John; husband Jim; a brother John “Bub” Jackson.

The funeral service will take place at 10:30 am, Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023 at Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana.

The interment will take place in the Gaerte Cemetery, Macy, Indiana.

Visitation hours will be from 4 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, Indiana.

Memorials can be made in her memory to the Beaver Dam Church/Wheels on Fire to assist the community members who are fighting cancer.
