Charles J. “Chuck” Pletcher, 86, of rural Etna Green, passed from this life into eternity at 8:28 pm, Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023 at Stillwater Hospice Home of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Chuck was born on Jan. 23, 1937 in Monterey, Indiana to the late Charles F. And Mertie (Woodcox) Pletcher. He married on March 28, 1970 in Warsaw, Indiana to Kristine Spurlock, she survives.
He served for over 30 years as a janitor. He worked in Reno, Nevada for over 8 years and locally he was the Tippecanoe Valley High School Janitor for 16 years. He attended the First Christian Church of Warsaw for many years. He enjoyed going to church and loved to spend time with his family. Chuck also enjoyed tractors, motorcycles, especially rides on the Goldwing, and drinking coffee with friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Kris of Etna Green; daughters Pam Yungandreas of Bremen and Sally Pletcher of Warsaw; 5 Grandchildren; several Great Grandchildren; mother-in-law Elizabeth Spurlock, a daughter-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, son Dennis Pletcher, a grandson Johny Yungandreas, brothers Lester White and Edison and his wife Mable White, father-in-law Vernon Spurlock, sister-in-law Robin Briggs, brother-in-law Bill Spurlock, and a niece Donna.
Memorial visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 pm, Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023 at King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana.
A graveside service will then take place following the visitation on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023 in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, Indiana with Pastor Matthew Rogers officiating.
