Charlotte M. “Dolly” Easterday, 86, of Rochester, passed surrounded by family at 11:09 pm, Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023 at Woodlawn Hospital of Rochester, Indiana.

Dolly was born on June 15, 1937 in Rochester, Indiana to the late Herman and Nina (Rhodes) Kindig. She married on Aug. 2, 1965 in Rochester, Indiana to Roy J. Easterday, who preceded her in death, after 56 years of marriage, on March 16, 2022.

Dolly was a homemaker and formerly sold antiques in Fulton. She resided in Fulton for 35 years and then moved to Rochester. She was a member of the Moose Lodge 1107, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 852, and VFW Post 1343. Dolly loved shopping, especially for antiques and primitive pieces. She also enjoyed auctions and mushroom hunting in Michigan. Dolly and Roy, together, enjoyed traveling to Wisconsin, to fish, and Florida, where they shortly wintered. Dolly was always thankful for the care she received from all the staff of Woodlawn Hospital. She, most of all, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters Tammy Shively of Athens and Dawn Kistler of Plymouth; grandchildren Casey Shively, Cody and wife Krista Kistler, Dylan Kistler, Priscilla Powell, and Mitchel Kistler; a great grandson Noah Kistler; sister Doris and husband Harold Molter of Illinois; son-in-law Don Foerg of Rochester; and lifetime friends Charlotte Wintrode of Andrews and Vickie and Kenny Eytcheson of Fulton, as well as many other friends and caregivers.

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Harold Chapman, husband Roy, daughter Cindy Foerg, sisters Mary Knapp, Carolee Powell, Shirley Shirk, and Nancy Conaway; and son-in-law Charles “Chuck” Kistler.

A private graveside service will take place in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery.??The arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana.
